Message from Musick CEO
It is hard to appreciate how much has changed in the world through five generations of the Musick family in Construction. At our founding, the 1904 World’s Fair was coming to St. Louis, and the first transatlantic flight was still two decades away. Personal mobility revolutionized our country and our world, and the Musick Family was there, playing a role in driving our community forward. Our story is intimately tied to the American story.
To all Musick team members past and present, I extend my heartfelt thanks to you and your families. It is thanks to you and your commitment to Musick’s vision, mission, and values that we have created an innovative culture and exceptional team that delivers excellence for our clients.
To all our clients, thank you for trusting us to provide the building solutions you need. We provide you with – the best value in the projects that improve people’s lives, and we appreciate every opportunity to do so.
To our subcontractors, suppliers, and partners, thank you for the partnership that has and continues to empower us to conduct our business. Through our collaborations, we have driven the creation of vital structures that many people use every day.
Finally, thank you to the communities where we operate. Our goal is to contribute to your social, economic, and environmental success by providing career opportunities, operating ethically and responsibly, and engaging meaningfully for positive social impact.
Musick Construction will maintain relevance in a changing world by listening to and understanding the needs of our clients and communities as we all work towards building the next century.
Thank you for your help on that journey. We cannot wait to see what is next as we build beyond 120!
Thank you,
Don C. Musick III
Musick Heritage
1880: The Beginning
The Musicks find much of their heritage in the construction industry, beginning in the 1880’s with James Musick. His son, William Carr Musick, and grandson, Don C. Musick Sr., continued in the tradition in the management of Bright Construction Company, a family firm noted for building Washington University’s Brookings Hall, Cupples Station, the Missouri Athletic Club and many other St. Louis landmark structures.
1940s: Incorporation
In the 1940’s Don C. Musick Construction was incorporated and Don C. Musick Jr. entered the firm soon expanding the company’s scope of work and client list to include R. C. Can Company, Vess Bottling Company, Prudential Savings, St. Mary’s and St. Joseph’s Hospitals, McDonnell Douglas, St. Louis University, and the award-winning Old Cathedral Renovation located on the grounds of the Jefferson National Expansion Memorial.

1980s - Present Day
From 1980 to present day, the company has continued to provide the highest quality construction to its loyal clients under the leadership of Don C. Musick III, the fifth generation of Musicks in construction. Our commitment to consistent quality workmanship, customer service and meeting client schedules are what maintain existing business relationships and attract new ones.

Musick Sustainability
Green building incorporates measured design and construction goals to improve energy efficiency, reduce waste, protect resources, improve indoor air quality and occupant comfort. The most common way to measure green building is the LEED certification program.
We are committed to Green Building and sustainable construction practices. Whether a building is participating in a certification program or not, we have made a commitment to incorporating green building practices on all our projects.
